Learning Objectives

How we process our emotions impacts how we perceive ourselves and how we express ourselves to others. It also impacts our relationships (personal and professional), the decisions that we make, and how well we are able to manage the stress that we experience. Being emotionally intelligent is about building self-awareness, and using our emotions in the most effective way in our day-to-day interactions, the decisions that we make, and the work that we are engaged in.

  • Recognize and understand the 5 composite scales and 15 subscales of emotional intelligence.

  • Interpret and illustrate how each subscale impacts your role and different stakeholders in your industry.

  • Examine connections between specific subscales and personal and professional experiences through reflective practice

  • Evaluate current strategies and identify new strategies that can be used for effective interaction with others.

  • Develop strategies that can be integrated in the workplace to foster the development of emotional intelligence
